A default setting of 0.4mm is commonly used in PrusaSlicer as it offers a good balance between preventing nozzle collisions and minimizing unnecessary vertical movements.
While there isn't a universally defined maximum Z hop height, it's generally recommended to keep Z hop below 2mm, unless specific printing conditions require a greater hop. Increasing the Z hop can impact your prints in the following ways:
